JoJo's Bio
JoJo has been racing R/C cars on and off since 1987 and actually won the first race he ever entered. He has competed and won races in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Florida, Missouri and Illinois. Highlights include 1991ROAR region 6 2wd Mod Truck and Stock Buggy A-main top 5 finishes. 1992 Roar Louisiana State 2 Wheel Drive Modified Dirt Oval Champion and 1996 Orrca Louisiana State 2wd Gas Truck Dirt Oval Champion. His racing has been limited due to his time as an  R/C race track owner/promoter/announcer during the late 80's and early 90's. JoJo is most widely known for his years as a track co-owner/promoter at Johnny V's R/C Hobby and Raceway in Laplace, Louisiana. He and partner John Vititoe opened the track in 1987 and enjoyed several very successful years of racing during the hay day of electric 1/10th Scale Off- Road Racing. Some of the races that Monte promoted and ran and is most proud of during those years were " The ROAR 1/10th Scale Louisiana Off-Road State Championships in 1990 and 1991, The ROAR Region 6 Off-Road Regionals in 1991 and four very successful years of the "Gulf States Off-Road Championships" which became one of the mid south's premiere events.
Aside from a one race comeback in 1996,  the 2008 racing season has been the first since 1993 in which Monte has participated. "You never retire from R/C you just take a break" Monte said. "The desire to race never goes away". The aging Monte hopes to start winning again starting with the Missouri R/C Pro Series. "This is basically a young man's sport, you need vision, reflexes, coordination, lots of practice and nerves of steel to excel in R/C".
